Product development involves
Research
In-depth research into the idea to gain extensive knowledge of the product and inform our design choices.
This is achieved through primary and secondary research into focusing on the function of the product, target user groups and market competitors, as well as understanding the environment it will be used in.
Concept Development
From the research we develop through ideation a range of viable designs. We will then present these initial concepts to you. This allows us at this early stage to create a large range of designs for you to evaluate. This stage may be repeated depending on how complicated the design is. From this feedback refine these designs into developed high quality concepts that show the final design.
3D CAD development
We then take these concepts into 3D software to create a digital prototype of the product. This allows us to create iterative mock-ups and using our in house rapid prototyping capabilities we can create prototypes that can be tested and used in focus groups.
Photo realistic renders
From the 3D model we then render the design to high fidelity images creating 100% realistic images of the product for final approval.
Extensive Protoyping
Utilising a range of techniques we create a final prototype of the product to test the functionality and get a feel for the product in the real world. This can include FDM or SLA 3D printed parts as well as CNC milled parts and parts made using traditional model making techniques.
IP & Patent Drawings
We create outlined drawings used to protect your product ideas. These are an essential component for successful patents and registering design applications.
Manufacturing support
We design for a range of maufacturing techniques and liaise with the selcted suppliers to produce your product to the highest of standards and on budget.
