Introducing OrangeStorm Giga

OrangeStorm Giga Large Format FDM 3D Printer

In late 2024 Phoenix Consultants expanded their advanced prototyping and CNC fabrication capabilities with the installation of an OrangeStorm Giga large format 3d printer. This industrial machine features a huge build volume of 800mm x 800mm x 1000mm that enables production of large parts being printed as single pieces as opposed to printing in multiple parts that are fused together.

Since its introduction, this machine has became an intrinsic part of Phoenix Consultants’ rapid prototyping facilities and production parts utilised for low batch manufacture.

3D Printed TEDx Stage Sign

TEDx Stage Sign

A recent modelmaking project that made use of the huge build volume was working with the local TEDx in Gloucester to fabricate their stage sign. Each letter for “TED” needed to be 800mm tall and because the Letters have been 3d modelled from the official TED font, when put together creates a sign that looks breathtaking and adheres to the TEDx brand guidelines.

Removing 3D Print from Machine

Engineering Parts

Capable of producing engineering components fit for functional prototypes, mechanical testing, and production parts that can be made from a selection of high grade materials. This benefits from the highly accurate print quality that can produce parts with a layer height down to 180 microns making large components with barely visible layer lines.
